Stitch Fix - August 2015

My Stitch Fix box was the first piece of real mail I received at our new address and it was the perfect housewarming gift, if I do say so myself.

I had been missing my fixes since I put them on hold two months ago when we moved out of our old house.  Two months doesn't seem like a lot, but when you are craving any sort of "normal", two months is forever.  I was so happy to see this on my (new) front porch, even if it wasn't a "keep-it-all" box.

Please excuse the poor quality of photos.  I am trying to find the perfect spot in the new house to hang the clothes - this wasn't it.  Those aren't stripes you are seeing in every piece, it is the blinds!

Ivy + Blu Joy Eyelet Dress - $84.  I liked this dress on, it fit well and was longer, which I prefer.  I thought it would look cute with a jean jacket or blazer, but couldn't convince myself that white would stay clean in my house.  Returned.

Brixon Ivy Pinson Drape Cardigan - $54.  When I first pulled this out, I thought it was definitely going right back in and shipped back.  But I always try everything on, just in case, and I'm so glad I did with this.  It fits perfectly and the second layer gives it something special.  Kept.

41Hawthorn Breyson Pleated Tab-Sleeve Blouse - $58.  Those aren't lines in the shirt (although they would be cute on this).  I am a sucker for shirts like these, especially when the arms roll up.  I love navy and this fit really well.  Kept.

Brixon Ivy Bixby Clover Print Blouse - $64.  I really wanted to like this.  It was different, black and white, and the sleeves rolled up.  However, boxy shirts and I don't really get along, and this one was not a great fit.  Returned.

Bay to Baubles Hemway Triple Stone Necklace - $28.  I love the color of the stones on this, but it was an awkward length for me - not long, but tshirt neck length.  I might just request no jewelry from now on because I haven't loved anything they've sent me.  Returned.

I'm still waiting on my "keep the whole box" fix.  But as long as there is at least one piece in each box, I remain a happy customer!

If you are considering trying out Stitch Fix - here is my referral link.  If you do use it, thank you - I receive product credit!  If you get Stitch Fix and blog about your fixes, leave your link in the comments, I'm always looking for new items to pin!

Stitch Fix - July

Oh, Stitch Fix.  I have a love/hate relationship with you.  I love the fun and excitement you bring me - the sheer joy I get when I see that you've shipped me a new fix.  I hate how after seventeen fixes, you have yet to wow me with a "I'm keeping everything!" box.  I would think that if we've been together this long, you would really have a great sense of my style and kill it each and every month.

This past month was oh-so-disappointing.  Spoiler alert - I kept a whopping zero items.  But in the spirit of keeping it real, I'm going to share them with you anyway.

Mystree Smith Maxi Dress - $74.  I thought I might like this, and it was perfect for the 4th of July.  But I quickly realized the the horizontal stripes were not my friends and made me look quite wider than I actually am.  Returned.

Loveappella Dixie Crochet Sleeve Dress - $78.  This just wasn't my style.  The tightness, the sleeves, the length.  Pair that with the price, and it wasn't a keeper.  Returned.

Lavender Brown Noel Silk Dress - $64.  Oh, where do I begin with this one.  The pattern is totally not my style, not even a little bit.  And the silk?  Just based on all of the wrinkles from being in a box for a few days was enough for me to say no.  Returned.

Market & Spruce Bruce Double Strap Blouse - $64.  When I first saw this, I rejoiced because I thought I had a winner!  I love the colors and style.  But, it was too boxy and ended a bit short of me.  So disappointing.  Returned.

Bay to Baubles Grove Stone Drop Earrings - $28.  These just aren't my style.  Returned.

So there you have it.  My first fix that resulted in me sending everything back.  For those of you who love your fixes every month, who is your stylist?  Share her/him with me!  I've done the detailed notes, the style profile and the Pinterest board - let's hope next month is amazing!

Stitch Fix - May

By now, I'm assuming most of you know how Stitch Fix works, yes?  It's one of my favorite parts of the month for me - a nicely wrapped little package, full of clothes and accessories picked out specifically for me and delivered to my door.  What's not to love?

Let's get right to it.

Market & Spruce Dafne Chevron Maxi Dress - $88.  The maxi dresses I have received in the past were always too long, so I didn't have high hopes for this one.  It ended up being a great length, but I didn't love it enough for $88.  Returned.

Liverpool Mira Skinny Pant - $88.  I primarily wear black skinny pants to work, so I was excited to see these.  The fit was just ok, and the material was the kind that picked up everything.  With two littles and a pup, that was the deal-breaker.  Returned.

Market & Spruce Colibri Polka Dot Print Top - $48.  Hi, I'm Meagan, and I'm obsessed with polka dots.  I had pretty much decided I was keeping this before trying it on.  Unfortunately, it was huge on me and was Returned.

Staccato Raelene Striped Draped Front Cardigan - $48.  Although a lot of my wardrobe is black and white, this cardigan was just ok.  "Just ok" for my wallet is not good enough, therefore it was Returned.

Market & Spruce Sawyer Space Dye Dolman Sleeve Knit Top - $58.  Excuse the poor photo quality, the color of this was more of a burgundy.  This type of top is one that I usually go for, so I was happy to see it.  However, it was not flattering on, so it was Returned.

If you are keeping track, I sent everything back!   This was definitely a first for me, and it pained me to lose out on my $20 styling fee, but I thought $20 was better than more for something I wouldn't wear often.  And honestly, the only possibility was the maxi, which I wasn't too crazy about.  So, this month - there was a lot to not love.

I gave very specific notes on each item, so I'm crossing my fingers that my June box will be out of this world!  What do you think?  Would you have made the same decisions?

(This post is not sponsored, I did not receive anything for free.  All opinions are my own.  There are links, that if you should click and sign up, I will receive a referral credit - thank you!)

Stitch Fix - February

I'm sure that by now, most of you (if not all) know what Stitch Fix is.  If not - real quick - it's a monthly box of clothing and accessories picked specifically for you delivered right to your door.  Keep what you want, send back the rest.  That's it!

I've been getting fixes for about a year now, and generally keep one to two items.  This month, I specially asked for summer items to take with me to St. Thomas next month.  I received a note from my stylist saying that "they hadn't received many items for warm weather", but she "was able to pull some."  Doesn't anyone in warmer climates get Stitch Fix?

Because of the note, I went in to this fix thinking I was getting "leftover" items from last summer, which set the mood.  Let's get started.

Creative Commune Miranda Scarf Print Racer Back Tank - $38.  I actually shocked myself and kind of liked this.  It's not something I would usually go for, but something about the pattern spoke to me.  Imagine my disappointment when I tried it on and it was way too short.  Sent Back.

Le Lis Parsons Knit Top - $38.  I was really on the fence with this top.  It was flowy, and longer in the back and looked pretty cute with skinny jeans.  However, I couldn't get over the stripes, which are not flattering on me.  Sent Back.

Pomelo Harriet Chevron Print Detail Dress - $64.  The lighter blue color screamed ocean to me, and it fit perfectly.  My excitement quickly diminished when I noticed that part of one of the black chevron stripes looked like it had faded in to the white.  A quick email to customer service to see if they had another dress resulted in me getting an extra 15% off.  Kept.

41Hawthorn Linda Cross Front Knit Top - $54.  I knew before trying this one that it wasn't for me.  The cross fabric was located awkwardly, and it was really tight in the hips.  Sent Back.

Loveappella Amanda Twist Back Knit Top - $48.  This is actually the back of the shirt - the front was just plain black.  I liked it, it fit well, but almost $50 for a tank top seemed a bit outrageous for me.  Sent Back.

Once again, I only kept one item.  I scheduled my next fix to come before my vacation and once again asked for warmer weather items, so I'm staying hopeful and wishing for some fabulous items!  What do you think?  Any amazing items I should go out on my own to get for my vacation?

If you are interested in trying Stitch Fix, here is my referral code.  If you use it - thank you - I receive a credit towards my next fix!

Linking up with Anne for Wednesday Wishes.

Stitch Fix - January

I love sharing my fixes with my readers.  I also really enjoy the feedback - it helps me with fixes moving forward - what to request, what to look for, and who doesn't like to shop with their friends?  Even if it's over the internet!

Have you tried Stitch Fix yet?  It's quickly become one of my highlights of each month.  I get so excited!  On my next fix, I specifically requested summer items for my upcoming beach trip.  I hope they deliver!

Let's review what I got this month:

41Hawthorn Benson 3/4 Ruched Sleeve Blazer - $78.  I liked this, especially the purple inside (not that anyone would ever see that).  It fit well, but I also have a blazer just like this - and for $78 I couldn't justify having another.  Sent Back.

Market and Spruce Alan Cowl Neck Asymmetrical Cardigan - $58.  At first glance, I wasn't sure about the color.  I actually really liked the way it fit, the asymmetrical zipper was good for hiding not-so-perfect parts of my body.  In the end however, I couldn't get over the color.  Sent Back.

Market and Spruce Moni Abstract Chevron Stud Detail Blouse - $58.  I swear I've gotten this in a fix before.  That, or I've tried it on somewhere before.  Either way, it was way too tight in the hip area.  Sent Back.

Octavia Henry Birds on Branch Infinity Scarf - $28.  The colors of this scarf were so pretty.  The pattern was something a little different, but in the end I decided different was good.  Kept.

Pixley Kathy Striped Fit & Flare Dress - $68.  Does this picture make your eyes hurt?  Imagine it in person.  Sent Back.

Today is Wednesday Wishes with Anne.  I am wishing that my stylist really gets me next month, and I get an amazing fix.  I feel like others have gotten theirs - February has to be my month!  Maybe just the fact that it will be full of warm weather clothing will help!

Have you signed up for Stitch Fix yet?  What are your thoughts on what I kept?

Stitch Fix - December

Well friends, I am still waiting on my "Omg I need to keep ALL of these items!!" fix.  But until then, I am still keeping one to two items per box.  Let's get right to it!

Brixon Ivy Roselin Lace Overlay Blouse - $68.  I really liked this.  The color was vibrant and bright and it fit well.  But, all I could picture were my two littles tugging at the lace overlay and ripping it.  And for $68 I wasn't willing to risk that.  Returned.

Market and Spruce Brentwood Jersey Stripe Tiered Top - $68.  (Sorry for the blurry pic!) Stripes and I get along, as long as they aren't horizontal.  The tiers on this shirt made me look like I had good curves, and the fabric is really soft.  Kept.

Pixley Zailey Sleeveless Sequin Shoulder Dress - $88.  This dress had so much potential.  The color was a great orange and the sequin shoulders made it perfect for a wedding or New Year's Eve.  However, once I tried it on, it hung rather loose and was unflattering.  Returned.

Pixley Isadora Crystal Gem Layered Necklace - $48.  Well, this was missing a stone so I obviously didn't keep it.  But it was the perfect length and after trying on the sparkly dress, I was all about this.  Returned.

Moon Collection Otto Fringe Trim Sleeveless Cardigan - $58.  I actually really liked the quirkiness of this cardigan.  I was digging the fringe, and it looked really cute with skinnies and ankle boots.  However, it was a bit too long (hitting my knees in some areas) so it was Returned.

Do you get Stitch Fix?  Love or hate your items?  Share your faves with me!

I hope you all have a very wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas!  This marks the end of blogging for the week for me.  I'll be back next week with new posts - and I'm really looking forward to catching up with you then!

Stitch Fix - October 2014

I had such a great time in Nashville this past weekend!  I am working on a post but in the meantime, I wanted to share my most recent Stitch Fix with you.  Have you seen their new policy?  There have been some people saying that they are overpriced, that their prices were much higher than what you could buy the same piece for at another store, and then there was the blogger that discovered a Nordstrom Rack price tag on her shorts from Stitch Fix.  So, they responded:  If you purchase something from Stitch Fix, and find the exact item cheaper elsewhere, they will reimburse you the difference.  I haven't gotten a fix since this new policy was announced - but I'm excited to!  I don't really mind the prices of the pieces - I set them in the first place - but I'm a bargain hunter, so you bet I'll be researching!

On to what I got...

Market and Spruce Marko Coloreblocked Tie-Back Sweater - $68.  I liked the back of this sweater, but the rest of it hung a little awkwardly.  Loved the colors and colorblocking, but it was sent back.

Skies Are Blue Farley Swiss Dot Ruffle Front Blouse - $58.  This shirt had potential, but was overall way too big and boxy.  Sent Back.

41Hawthorn Jace Textured Mixed Chevron Print Fit & Flare Dress - $68.  Love the colors on this, and the pattern.  I was convinced it wouldn't fit - as it always takes me at least three stores to find a dress when I'm searching - but it fit perfectly.  So cute and fun.  Not sure when I'll wear this, but I Kept It.

Level 99 Giovanni Straight Leg Jean - $98.  The price first deterred me a bit, but I decided to try them on.  They fit really well and were very soft, but I just kept picturing my girls grabbing at me with dirty hands and ruining them.  Sent Back.

Pomelo Missy Polka Dot Tab-Sleeve Blouse - $58.  I loved this shirt upon first glance.  The color was bright, but muted enough for fall/winter.  And we've already established how much I love polka dots, so I thought this was a winner.  However, when I tried it on the sleeves were a little funny when rolled up, and keeping them down were way to long on my arms.  Major bummer, but Sent Back.

Thoughts on the dress?  What can I wear with it now that it's cold?  I'm thinking boots and a leather jacket.  What did you keep from your Stitch Fix?  Please share - I love seeing other's fixes!

Subscription Sunday - Ipsy September

It's been awhile since I posted a review on a Sunday.  My Ipsy bag this month was a-ma-zing so I had to share it.

I love Ipsy for a lot of reasons: the price (only $10/month), the fact that they send me things based on my profile (I feel like Birchbox did not), and the cute little makeup bag that comes with each package (although I have a lot now and don't use half of them!).

1.  Briogeo: Don't Despair Repair: This is a deep conditioning hair mask.  I haven't used it yet but it smells amazing.

2.  NYX Eyeshadow: This color is one I would normally pick out for myself for every day.  It's gold-ish, and goes on a little shimmery.  (And if you look closely, you can see my reflection taking the picture, oops)

3.  Pacifica Nail Polish: This is a deep red, perfect for fall.  It goes on smoothly and hasn't chipped yet, on Day 2.  With two littles, this is a big accomplishment!

4.  Mega Eyes Eye Marker: in black.  This is perfect when I want to add a little more for a night out.  Really easy to use!

5.  Cailyn Tinted Lip Gloss: This is a perfect color for every day.  Not sticky, goes on smooth.  Doesn't last forever, but I wouldn't expect a long wearing gloss.

6.  Crown Brush Infinity: Shadow and crease brush.  I've been needing a new shadow brush so this is perfect!

Overall, I really, really loved my Ipsy bag this month.  This is one of the subscription boxes that I don't think I'll ever end - it's the perfect way to sample new products that I wouldn't normally get otherwise.

I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend!  Come back tomorrow - I might or might not be having a giveaway.... :)

Stitch Fix - August

This month, I took my time going through my pieces and carefully wrote down each brand and price, since I didn't think to do that before sending them back last month.  I really feel like the stylists are starting to understand what I like and don't like - this is largely in part to me leaving comments on each piece that I don't keep.  Let's get to it, shall we?

Market and Spruce Torin French Terry Stripe Blazer - $72.  I didn't think I would like this, mostly because of the stripes.  When I tried it on it was so cute - and made my waist look really small (no easy feat these days!) but when buttoned, it was too tight.  Sent Back.

Collective Concepts Lizette Chevron Print Long Sleeve Belted Shirt Dress - $88.  I really liked this on - I pictured it with tights and boots.  The only problem was that it was a bit tight in the thighs, a forever problem of mine.  My top and bottom are not the same size, making dress shopping usually a disaster resulting in tears and a mall soft pretzel to make me feel better.  (That's absolutely counter productive, and I know it :) ) Sent Back.

Dainel Rainn Bilson Dot Print Pleat Detail Blouse - $68.  At first glance, I thought I wouldn't be keeping this.  Mostly because I have a thing for polka dots, and neutral colors, thus my closet is full of them.  Once I tried it on, I was smitten.  It tapers in a bit in the waist and is so cute.  I can already picture it with skinnies and flats in the fall.  Kept.

Bay to Baubles Mckensie Natural Stone Pendant - $32.  (Nail polish to show size.  The color is Essie Playdate if you are interested!) I sort of liked this.  It is simple, understated and would go with most of my clothes.  I wasn't crazy about the color - it was sort of a mauve, trying to be pink.  Sent Back.

Market and Spruce Abi Colorblock Maxi Dress - $88.  I love a good maxi.  But this one was too long (I'm 5'7) and the gathering in the waist area was not a good look for me.  Sent Back.

So, what do you think of my choices?  Anything you would have kept that I sent back?
